बहराइच जिले के मटेरा विधानसभा क्षेत्र में नानपारा थानाक्षेत्र के खुदादात भारी गांव में एक ढाबे पर सपा एवं भाजपा समर्थकों के बीच हिंसक झड़प हुई है। पुलिस ने दोनों पक्ष के 11 नामजद एवं 10-15 अन्य के खिलाफ मुकदमा दर्ज कर कर नौ लोगों को गिरफ्तार किया है। अपर पुलिस अधीक्षक (ग्रामीण) अशोक कुमार ने शनिवार को बताया कि शुक्रवार शाम चुनाव प्रचार की समयावधि समाप्त होने के बाद रात करीब 11 बजे विनोद कुमार वर्मा उर्फ ददुआ बहराइच नानपारा मार्ग पर यादव ढाबा पर अपने समर्थकों के साथ खाना खाने गये थे।
अपर पुलिस अधीक्षक के अनुसार यह जानकारी मिली है कि ददुआ एवं उनके साथी नशे की हालत में थे और इस दौरान ददुआ की किसी से मोबाइल पर बात हुई। पुलिस के मुताबिक कुछ समय बाद मटेरा सीट से भाजपा प्रत्याशी अरूणवीर सिंह के पुत्र करनवीर सिंह अपने साथियों के साथ आ रहे थे, तब ददुआ ने इन्हें ढाबे के सामने रोक लिया।
पुलिस अधिकारी ने बताया कि दोनों पक्षों के बीच ली गलौज एवं मारपीट हुई जिसके बाद दोनों पक्ष के काफी लोग घटनास्थल से भाग गये एवं मारपीट में एक व्यक्ति को चोट पहुंची है। पुलिस अधीक्षक के मुताबिक पुलिस ने नानपारा कोतवाली में करनवीर सिंह, विनोद वर्मा उर्फ ददुआ सहित 11 नामजद एवं 10-15 अन्य लोगों के खिलाफ मुकदमा दर्ज किया है।
कुमार ने बताया कि अभी तक कुल नौ लोगों की गिरफ्तारी हुई है और पुलिस मामले की विवेचना कर रही है। घटना में घायल विनोद वर्मा उर्फ ददुआ समाजवादी पार्टी टिकट पर नानपारा विधानसभा से चुनाव लड़ रही विधायक माधुरी वर्मा के पति पूर्व विधायक दिलीप वर्मा के भतीजे हैं। वर्मा का आरोप है कि मारपीट में करीब दस सपा कार्यकर्ता घायल हुए हैं। हालांकि भाजपा प्रत्याशी अरूणवीर सिंह ने कहा कि शुक्रवार शाम प्रचार अवधि समाप्त होने के बाद जब उनके समर्थक वापस लौट रहे थे तब सपा विधायक के नशे में धुत भतीजे ने भाजपा समर्थकों को रास्ते में रोककर मारपीट की है और मारपीट में उनके (भाजपा) लोग घायल हुए हैं।
