नई दिल्ली। केंद्र सरकार ने शुक्रवार को प्रमुख मुस्लिम नेता एवं हैदराबाद के सांसद असदुद्दीन ओवैसी को केन्द्रीय रिजर्व पुलिस बल (सीआरपीएफ) के कमांडो द्वारा ‘जेड’ श्रेणी की सुरक्षा मुहैया कराने का फैसला किया। आधिकारिक सूत्रों ने बताया कि ओवैसी की सुरक्षा के लिए 24 घंटे सीआरपीएफ कमांडो तैनात रहेंगे। ऑल इंडिया मजलिस-ए-इत्तेहादुल मुस्लिमीन (एआईएमआईएम) के प्रमुख को ‘जेड’ श्रेणी की सुरक्षा देने का निर्णय हापुड़ में उनकी कार पर कथित रूप से गोली चलाए जाने की घटना के एक दिन बाद आया है।
ओवैसी पश्चिमी उत्तर प्रदेश में चुनाव से संबंधित कार्यक्रमों में भाग लेने के बाद दिल्ली लौट रहे थे। ओवैसी ने निर्वाचन आयोग से घटना की स्वतंत्र जांच सुनिश्चित करने का आग्रह किया है। घटना में कोई घायल नहीं हुआ। उत्तर प्रदेश के अतिरिक्त पुलिस महानिदेशक (कानून-व्यवस्था) प्रशांत कुमार ने कहा था कि इस घटना में शामिल एक व्यक्ति को गिरफ्तार कर लिया गया है और उसके पास से एक पिस्तौल बरामद की गई है।
