उत्तर प्रदेश के बलिया जिले के दुबहर थाना क्षेत्र के अखार गांव में भारतीय जनता पार्टी (भाजपा) के बलिया सदर विधानसभा क्षेत्र से उम्मीदवार दयाशंकर सिंह पर हमला किए जाने के आरोप में सपा उम्मीदवार के भतीजे को गिरफ्तार किया गया है। पुलिस ने बताया कि मामले में इस विधानसभा क्षेत्र से समाजवादी पार्टी (सपा) के उम्मीदवार नारद राय के समर्थकों के खिलाफ मामला दर्ज कर, राय के भतीजे को गिरफ्तार किया गया है। दुबहर थाने के प्रभारी राज कुमार सिंह ने बताया कि भाजपा के बलिया सदर विधानसभा क्षेत्र के उम्मीदवार एवं पार्टी के प्रदेश उपाध्यक्ष दयाशंकर सिंह की शिकायत पर देर रात सपा उम्मीदवार एवं पूर्व मंत्री नारद राय के अज्ञात समर्थकों के खिलाफ हमला करने, रास्ता रोकने, वाहन को क्षति पहुंचाने तथा जान से मारने की धमकी देने के आरोप में मामला दर्ज किया गया है।

उन्होंने बताया कि इस घटना में किसी के घायल होने की सूचना नहीं है। पुलिस ने इस मामले में नारद राय के भतीजे आशीष राय को गिरफ्तार किया है। सिंह ने बताया कि दयाशंकर सिंह ने शिकायत में कहा कि वह बलिया सदर विधानसभा क्षेत्र के अखार गांव में रात साढ़े 11 बजे चुनाव प्रचार कर लौट रहे थे, तभी सपा उम्मीदवार नारद राय के समर्थकों ने उनका रास्ता रोका, हमला किया, वाहन को क्षतिग्रस्त किया तथा जान से मारने की धमकी दी। यह उनकी हत्या की बड़ी साजिश थी। उन्होंने बताया कि भाजपा उम्मीदवार सिंह ने घटना के बाद मौके पर पहुंचे पुलिस अधिकारियों को बताया कि राय समर्थक घटना के बाद अपना एक वाहन छोड़कर भाग गए हैं। वाहन मुख्तार अंसारी गिरोह का है। सिंह ने बताया कि भाजपा उम्मीदवार ने हाल ही उनकी पार्टी में शामिल हुए टुन जी पाठक के वाहन को भी क्षतिग्रस्त करने का आरोप लगाया है। पाठक, पहले बहुजन समाज पार्टी (बसपा) में थे।
