उत्तर प्रदेश विधानपरिषद की दो सीटों पर 11 अगस्त को होने वाले उपचुनाव के लिए भारतीय जनता पार्टी (भाजपा) के दो तथा समाजवादी पार्टी (सपा) के एक उम्मीदवार ने सोमवार को नामांकन दाखिल किया। गोरखपुर की क्षेत्रीय भाजपा इकाई के अध्यक्ष धर्मेंद्र सिंह सैंथवार और काशी क्षेत्र की उपाध्यक्ष निर्मला पासवान ने विधानभवन के सेंट्रल हॉल में भाजपा उम्मीदवार के तौर पर नामांकन दाखिल किया। इस दौरान मुख्यमंत्री योगी आदित्यनाथ, उपमुख्यमंत्री केशव प्रसाद मौर्य तथा बृजेश पाठक और पार्टी के कई वरिष्ठ नेता मौजूद थे। दूसरी ओर, सपा उम्मीदवार कीर्ति कोल ने भी नामांकन दाखिल किया।
पाठक ने सपा प्रत्याशी आदिवासी महिला कीर्ति की उम्मीदवारी पर संवाददाताओं से बातचीत में कहा कि पार्टी ने उम्मीदवार के तौर पर एक आदिवासी महिला का नामांकन सिर्फ उन्हें मानसिक रूप से परेशान करने के लिए कराया है क्योंकि वह जानती है कि उसके पास चुनाव जीतने लायक संख्या बल नहीं है, वह सिर्फ सुर्खियों मे रहने के लिए ऐसा कर रही है। कीर्ति कोल मिर्जापुर की छानबे विधानसभा सीट से सपा के टिकट पर चुनाव लड़ चुकी हैं। विधानपरिद उपचुनाव के वास्ते उनके नामांकन दाखिल करने के समय पार्टी प्रदेश अध्यक्ष नरेश उत्तम पटेल तथा विधायक मनोज पांडेय, रविदास मेहरोत्रा तथा अन्य नेता मौजूद थे।
कीर्ति ने संवाददाताओं से कहा कि वह सभी वर्गों से आदिवासी समाज की एक महिला का समर्थन करने की अपील करती हैं। उन्होंने प्रत्याशी बनाने के लिए सपा नेतृत्व को धन्यवाद भी दिया। गौरतलब है कि विधानपरिषद की दो सीटें सपा नेता अहमद हसन के निधन और भाजपा की ठाकुर जयवीर सिंह द्वारा विधानसभा के लिए चुने जाने के कारण विधान परिषद से इस्तीफा दिए जाने की वजह से खाली हुई हैं। इन पर आगामी 11 अगस्त को उपचुनाव होगा।
इन दोनों सीटों पर चुनाव में विधानसभा के सदस्य मतदान करेंगे। प्रदेश की 403 सदस्यीय विधानसभा में भाजपा के 255 और उसके सहयोगियों अपना दल सोनेलाल के 12 तथा निषाद पार्टी के छह विधायक हैं। समाजवादी पार्टी के 111 जबकि उसके सहयोगी राष्ट्रीय लोकदल के आठ विधायक हैं। उसके अलावा सुहेलदेव भारतीय समाज पार्टी के छह, जनसत्ता दल तथा कांग्रेस के दो-दो और बहुजन समाज पार्टी का एक सदस्य है। संख्या बल के लिहाज से देखें तो भाजपा के दोनों उम्मीदवारों की जीत तय है। राज्य की 100 सदस्य विधान परिषद में इस वक्त भाजपा के 73 सदस्य हैं। इसके अलावा समाजवादी पार्टी के नौ, चार निर्दलीय, शिक्षक समूह के दो और अपना दल तथा निषाद पार्टी का एक-एक सदस्य है।
