रबी के सीजन की प्रमुख फसल सरसों की कटाई शुरू हो गई है। देश के कई राज्य जैसे राजस्थान, हरियाणा, पंजाब और पश्चिमी उत्तर प्रदेश के किसान इसकी कटाई भी कर चुके हैं। जिसके चलते मंडियों में इसकी मात्रा काफी बढ़ गई है। लेकिन आवक बढ़ने का असर कीमतों पर पड़ा है और सरसों के भाव गिर गए हैं। पिछले साल किसानों ने सरसों से जमकर मुनाफा लिया था। इस बार भी किसानों को फायदे की उम्मीद है, लेकिन शुरुआती तौर पर नई पैदावार आने के साथ दाम गिरे हैं। हालांकि अभी भी यह न्यूनतम समर्थन मूल्य से अधिक भाव पर ही बिक रहा है। लेकिन फिर भी किसान ज्यादा भाव की उम्मीद लगा रहे है। केंद्र सरकार ने इस सीजन के लिए सरसों की MSP 5050 रुपए प्रति क्विंटल तय की है, जो पिछले साल से 400 रुपए अधिक है।
प्राप्त जानकारी के मुताबिक, मंडियों में सरसों की आवक बढ़ने से सरसों तेल तिलहनों के भाव में गिरावट आई। इस तेल की ज्यादा खपत उत्तर भारत के राज्यों में है जबकि महाराष्ट्र, आंध्र प्रदेश, तमिलनाडु जैसे स्थानों पर सोयाबीन और सूरजमुखी जैसे तेलों की अधिक खपत है। इसलिए सरकार को देश में तेल तिलहन उत्पादन बढ़ाने पर मुख्य रूप से ध्यान देना होगा।
