लखनऊ। सुलतानपुर जिले में शुक्रवार सुबह उत्तर प्रदेश पुलिस के विशेष कार्य बल (एसटीएफ) के साथ मुठभेड़ में एक लाख रुपये का इनामी बदमाश मारा गया। अधिकारियों ने यह जानकारी दी। कोतवाली देहात थाना के प्रभारी श्याम सुंदर ने बताया कि अपराधी की पहचान विनोद कुमार उपाध्याय (37) के रूप में हुई है। उन्होंने बताया कि उपाध्याय और एसटीएफ के बीच थाना कोतवाली देहात क्षेत्र के हनुमानगंज बाजार बाईपास के पास हुई मुठभेड़ हुई।

अतिरिक्त पुलिस महानिदेशक (एसटीएफ) अमिताभ यश ने पीटीआई-भाषा को बताया कि एसटीएफ के साथ मुठभेड़ के दौरान उपाध्याय को गोली लग गई और उसे अस्पताल में भर्ती कराया गया जहां उसकी मौत हो गई। पुलिस अधीक्षक सोमेन बर्मा ने बताया कि उपाध्याय के खिलाफ गोरखपुर, बस्ती, संत कबीर नगर और लखनऊ में जघन्य अपराधों के 35 मामले दर्ज थे। पुलिस के एक बयान में कहा गया है कि सितंबर 2023 में गोरखपुर पुलिस ने उस पर एक लाख रुपये का इनाम घोषित किया था।
