2.34 लाख हेक्टेयर में फैला बागवानी क्षेत्र दे रहा 9 लाख लोगों को रोजगार

हिमाचल प्रदेश में बागवानी क्षेत्र आय का एक बहुत अच्छा श्रोत साबित हो रहा है जिससे लोगों की आर्थिक स्थिति में काफी सुधार आ रहा है। वर्तमान में राज्य में 2.34 लाख हेक्टेयर क्षेत्र बागवानी के अधीन है। गत चार साल में प्रदेश में 31.40 लाख मीट्रिक टन फल उत्पादन हुआ है। इस अवधि में बागवानी क्षेत्र की वार्षिक आय औसतन 4,575 करोड़ रही। नौ लाख लोगों को प्रत्यक्ष या अप्रत्यक्ष रूप से रोजगार मिल रहा है। हिमाचल सेब के बाद अब फल राज्य बनने की ओर अग्रसर है।

गर्म जलवायु वाले प्रदेश के निचले क्षेत्रों में बागवानी की अपार संभावनाओं के दृष्टिगत बागवानी क्षेत्र के समग्र विकास और राज्य के लोगों को स्वावलंबी बनाने की दिशा में उपोष्णकटिबंधीय बागवानी, सिंचाई एवं मूल्य संवर्धन परियोजना (एचपी शिवा) अहम भूमिका निभा रही है। नए बगीचे लगाने के लिए बागवानों को उपयुक्त पौध सामग्री से लेकर सामूहिक विपणन तक सहायता और सुविधाएं दी जा रही हैं। एशियन विकास बैंक के सहयोग से कुल 975 करोड़ की परियोजना में 195 करोड़ सरकार का अंशदान है। अब तक 48.80 करोड़ दिए हैं। 37.31 करोड़ व्यय किए जा चुके हैं। अमरूद, लीची, अनार और नींबू प्रजाति के फलों के पायलट परीक्षण के लिए 75 करोड़ की वित्तपोषित योजना तैयार की है।
