लखीमपुर खीरी। लखीमपुर खीरी जिले में बहराइच राजमार्ग पर नकहा के पास रविवार को एक तेज रफ्तार वैन और उत्तर प्रदेश परिवहन निगम (रोडवेज) की बस के बीच भिड़त होने से एक बच्चे सहित पांच लोगों की मौत हो गई, जबकि आठ अन्य घायल हो गए। पुलिस ने यह जानकारी दी। लखीमपुर के पुलिस क्षेत्राधिकारी (सीओ) रमेश कुमार तिवारी ने पत्रकारों को बताया कि यात्रियों से भरी वैन बहराइच की ओर से लखीमपुर जा रही थी, तभी नकहा गांव के पास वह लखीमपुर से आ रही एक रोडवेज बस से टकरा गई। उन्होंने कहा कि एक बच्चे सहित वैन में सवार चार यात्रियों की मौके पर ही मौत हो गई, जबकि एक अन्य यात्री की अस्पताल ले जाते समय मौत हो गई।
करीब आधा दर्जन लोगों की हालत गंभीर बताई जा रही है। तिवारी ने बताया कि घायलों को जिला अस्पताल में भर्ती कराया गया है। इस बीच, लखीमपुर खीरी के जिलाधिकारी महेंद्र बहादुर सिंह, पुलिस अधीक्षक गणेश प्रसाद साहा के साथ मौके पर पहुंचे और स्थिति का जायजा लिया। उन्होंने जिला अस्पताल का भी दौरा किया और चिकित्सा कर्मचारियों को शीघ्र और उचित उपचार के निर्देश दिए।
