लखनऊ। रक्षा मंत्री राजनाथ सिंह ने रविवार को कहा कि उत्तराखंड समान नागरिक संहिता लागू करने वाला देश का संभवत: पहला राज्य बनने जा रहा है। सिंह ने उत्तरायण के अवसर पर यहां आयोजित उत्तरायणी कौतिक सम्मेलन को संबोधित करते हुए कहा, मुझे लगता है कि समान नागरिक संहिता लागू करने वाला पहला राज्य कोई बनने जा रहा है तो वह उत्तराखंड ही बनने जा रहा है। हालांकि उन्होंने चींजें स्पष्ट नहीं कीं। उत्तराखंड के मुख्यमंत्री पुष्कर सिंह धामी की सरकार ने 2022 में राज्य में समान नागरिक संहिता लागू करने के लिए एक प्रस्ताव पारित किया था। इस सिलसिले में एक समिति का भी गठन किया गया था।

रक्षा मंत्री ने उत्तराखंड में हुए विकास कार्यों का जिक्र करते हुए कहा कि यह राज्य सिर्फ देवभूमि और वीर भूमि ही नहीं बल्कि अब विकास भूमि के रूप में भी पहचानी जाने लगी है, विशेष रूप से पिछले लगभग पांच वर्षों में उत्तराखंड ने उल्लेखनीय प्रगति की है। उन्होंने उत्तर प्रदेश और उत्तराखंड के मजबूत आपसी रिश्तों का जिक्र करते हुए कहा, उत्तर प्रदेश को विभाजित कर उत्तराखंड बनने के बाद कुछ समय तक दोनों राज्यों के बीच कड़वाहट रही लेकिन लोगों के बीच कभी कड़वाहट देखने को नहीं मिली।

सिंह ने कहा कि आंध्र प्रदेश के विभाजन के बाद तेलंगाना राज्य बना लेकिन आज भी आंध्र प्रदेश और तेलंगाना राज्यों के बीच बहुत सारे ऐसे अनसुलझे मुद्दे हैं जिनको लेकर बराबर दोनों राज्य एक दूसरे के खिलाफ आंदोलन करते रहते हैं लेकिन उत्तर प्रदेश के विभाजन के बाद ऐसी स्थिति यहां नहीं है। उन्होंने कहा कि यहां रिश्ते इतने सजीव रहे कि सारे लंबित मुद्दों के बावजूद दोनों राज्यों के रहने वाले लोगों के बीच कलह नहीं हुई बल्कि संबंध निरंतर मजबूत होते गए।
