उत्तराखंड के कैबिनेट मंत्री सतपाल महाराज ने शनिवार को कहा कि राज्य सरकार ने हरिद्वार और उधम सिंह नगर जिलों में बाढ़ प्रभावित लोगों को 11 करोड़ रुपये से अधिक की तत्काल सहायता प्रदान की गई है। महाराज ने कहा कि अतिवृष्टि के कारण राज्य में जान-माल को हुई व्यापक क्षति का आकलन किया जा रहा है। संस्कृति, पर्यटन और लोक निर्माण विभाग के प्रभारी महाराज ने यहां एक संवाददाता सम्मेलन में कहा कि भारी बारिश के कारण राज्य में सड़कों और पुल को भी भारी नुकसान हुआ है। उन्होंने कहा, ”राज्यभर में सड़क और पुल को हुए नुकसान का आकलन किया जा रहा है और उनके पुनर्निर्माण की प्रक्रिया मॉनसून के बाद शुरू होगी।

उन्होंने कहा, ”हरिद्वार और उधम सिंह नगर जिलों में, जहां का मैंने हाल ही में दौरा किया था, बारिश का पानी घरों, दुकानों और कृषि क्षेत्रों में घुस गया, जिससे सैकड़ों हेक्टेयर में फैली फसलें नष्ट हो गई हैं। मंत्री ने कहा कि दोनों जिलों में बाढ़ प्रभावित किसानों और लोगों को तत्काल सहायता प्रदान करने पर 11 करोड़ रुपये से अधिक खर्च किए जा चुके हैं। महाराज ने कहा कि उत्तराखंड में भूस्खलन के कारण 406 सड़कें अवरुद्ध हैं, 100 को फिर से खोल दिया गया है जबकि अधिकांश राष्ट्रीय राजमार्ग खुले हैं। केंद्रीय गृह मंत्रालय द्वारा तैयार आंकड़े के मुताबिक, उत्तराखंड के सात जिले मॉनसूनी बाढ़ और भूस्खलन से प्रभावित हुए हैं। प्रेस वार्ता के दौरान महाराज ने राज्य में धार्मिक और साहसिक पर्यटन को बढ़ावा देने के लिए राज्य सरकार द्वारा उठाए गए कदमों पर भी प्रकाश डाला।

उन्होंने कहा कि श्रद्धालुओं के लिए बेहतर सुविधाओं के निर्माण से चारधाम यात्रा पर जाने वाले तीर्थयात्रियों की संख्या में अभूतपूर्व वृद्धि हुई है। उन्होंने कहा कि गढ़वाल मंडल विकास निगम के माध्यम से 22 करोड़ से अधिक लोगों ने यात्रा के लिए पंजीकरण कराया है। मंत्री ने कहा कि नए धार्मिक पर्यटन सर्किट बनाए जा रहे हैं, जिसमें गढ़वाल और कुमाऊं क्षेत्रों के 12-12 मंदिर हैं ताकि तीर्थयात्री राज्य के दोनों क्षेत्रों का दौरा करें और स्थानीय लोगों के लिए रोजगार के पर्याप्त अवसर उत्पन्न हों। उन्होंने कहा कि राज्य अमरनाथ यात्रा की तर्ज पर चमोली जिले में टिम्मरसैंण महादेव को भी बढ़ावा दे रहा है, जहां मार्च के दौरान बर्फ के तीन शिवलिंग बनते हैं। मंत्री ने कहा कि लोकप्रिय स्कीइंग स्थल औली को अंतरराष्ट्रीय मानकों के अनुरूप पुनर्विकसित करने के लिए एक मास्टर प्लान तैयार किया गया है।
